Creating a Six Part Web-Series

Client & Product

Nc'Nean is a new Whisky brand based in the highlands of Scotland. The founder, Annabel, started Nc’nean as she wanted to change the way the world perceives Scottish Whisky by creating a brand that's sustainable and different. Nc'Nean wanted a six part video series with their pre-selected guests trying their new recipe, the Whisky Six, and chatting about sustainability and breaking the rules.

Challenges

The main challenge for this project was organising and filming shoots whilst maintaining a safe social distance with both the client and guest.

 

In addition, we due to restrictions at the time, we could only have 2 members of Tower View Media on set. 

Job Done

We wore masks throughout the filming day, and our client and guest only removed theirs when filming commenced. All surfaces, gear and products were sanitised regularly, and the crew all maintained a 1 meter distance from each other whilst on set. 

We were able to successfully manage a 3-camera setup, including multiple lights, separately recorded audio lines and direction with a 2 person crew due to advanced planning and set management.

Implemented Features

Planning and Pre-Production

We spoke frequently with the client prior to the day to ensure we were all aware of key elements that needed shooting, as well as establishing stylisation choices regarding the end result.

On the Day

We arrived early to the location to get all gear prepped and the set ready prior to the guest and clients arrival. Using stationary cameras and lav mics allowed us to maintain social distancing whilst recording.

Video Creation

We had two shoot days in total, with the creation of 6 videos in total. These videos were edited and then released on a once-weekly basis.

Social Media

The videos were shared on the clients Instagram, Facebook, Website and YouTube once weekly, complimenting the various coverage of the brands Whisky Six recipe.

What is a Whisky 6?

Nc'Neans current product is an Organic Single Malt. A Whisky Six is a recipe of theirs, designed to be a light and refreshing, new way to drink and enjoy Whisky.

Ingredients

2 parts Nc’nean (50ml)
4 parts soda water (100ml)
Mint sprig to garnish

Method

Fill a glass with cubed ice and add all the ingredients.
Gently stir then garnish with a fresh sprig of mint.

Outcome

Tower View Media filmed and edited the clients videos for weekly releases. The videos collectively racked up over 15,000 views within 2 weeks of release and aided in spreading awareness of the brands new product and recipe, as well as highlighting the importance of sustainability within their brand.
